Not all DPCs can carry in-house medications. You need to be able to enter the medication in the patient's progress note as part of the plan without having to free text the entire thing including each component of the prescription. You end up double and triple documenting. It requires additional time to look-up and verify formulations, etc. You should be able to start typing a medication and it pull up or there should be some sort of database to add these medications easily and efficiently as part of the patient's record for that day. You also need to be able to easily document starting, discontinuing, decreasing, increasing medications. Not sure, but think like Eclinical works med system??

Anything --at this point I basically free text each and every note despite the use of templates.
